STEWARDS OF YOUR
MONEY
Main text: Matt 6:19-22
Memory Verse: Matt 25:14 “To one he gave five talents
of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to
his ability. Then he went on his journey”
Introduction
Money and the things it can buy can easily become
a source of temptation for many. We try to get as much of it as we can through
fair or foul means. In today’s reading, the Lord teaches the right attitude to money.
We are supposed to work hard to earn money to sustain ourselves. However, any
income we make belongs primarily to God and must be handled as such. Money is
not intended to be hoarded and expended to meet selfish desires.

2. Where did Jesus admonish us to keep our
treasured money? Why vrs 20
3. How do we store up earthly money/treasure in Heaven?
4. Why is it not wise to store up your treasure
on earth? Vrs 19
5. What kinds of activities do people spend money
on? In your opinion which ones are wasteful, which ones are godly?
Conclusion
The way a person uses his/her money is an
indication of their godliness or spirituality. When Jesus teaches his disciples
to store up treasure in Heaven, it means we should use our monies to do things
that please God. These include; taking care of His church, caring for the poor,
investing in charitable deeds among others. These good deeds translate in
treasure stored in Heaven.
